Our Story 

Hey I'm Jodie, the founder of mills. 

The brand is named after my best friend, my little sister Millie.

How mills started...

After designing swimwear for other brands I decided I wanted to grab the swimwear industry by its tie side brief and give it a go all on my own, but after years of playing with the idea it never happened. 

Fast forward to 2020 when I found myself living across sees in Canada I began to fall in love with the world and everything natural it has to offer. From the mountains, to the forests, from the beaches to the lakes, everything was so breathtaking! After a year of living in the most amazing place ever I set off back home to the UK and along the way I stopped off in the Caribbean for some sunshine. 

While I was living my best Caribbean life on the beach everyday I noticed the alarming amount of plastic washing up on the beautiful beaches of Punta Cana and it saddened me after seeing such beauty across Canada that just around the corner there was a build up of ocean waste piling up in this so called paradise. 

After weeks living in a bikini on this beautiful island I decided I wanted to go home and focus on a project, but this project had to have a meaning behind it. 

I have always been a lover of fashion design, but in the past 3 years I educated myself on the impact the fast fashion industry has on the world and started to shop more consciously. Shopping from ethical and sustainable brands. 

I still too can do more in my everyday life, but starting mills will hopefully inspire others to make small changes, starting with their wardrobe.
